Do you get to learn while you earn? It pains me to see #women who need something, who are juggling and perhaps struggling, made to carve out personal time to figure things out, embark on a course or learn something.
Give them space. Time. Resources. Dedicate an hour a week for them to spend on their own development.
I have had women go through #SHEStrategy after work. They’re pooped.
I’ve had others do it at work – but squeezed between a myriad other commitments and deliverables.
This means they’re pulled in opposing directions yet again; the need to gain core skills for life, so they can sustain their success and sanity, while delivering on every front, with no time dedicated for their learning and development. For their support and sanity. For their longer term sustainability, and ultimately, retention by you, their employer.
Imagine this: your corporate culture includes valuing learning and development. You make sure everyone. Everyone. Has a sacred scheduled hour each week – where it’s downing all tools, but the tools to enable you to get ahead and stay ahead.
I’m focusing on #womenatwork – please carve out time for them to learn skills that’ll enable them to stay in the pipeline and figure out how to get ahead and stay ahead every.single.day.
The message is strong, short, to the point. I like it. I like your writing style too. Thanks for sharing this with us.
