We are bird-sitting a canary for a couple of weeks as of yesterday. Keanan has been drawing birds non-stop since she arrived. This morning he declared he’ll be publishing a book of his sketches aptly named “The Bird Book. Nothing else. Just birds.”
In celebration of his new focus – he also declared that when he’s older he’s only going to draw birds – I am posting his work below.
Personally I’m amazed at how much character some of his sketches have. The attention to detail – every feather, the concentration of feathers, the eyes – note that Keanan is a Dubai child and so hasn’t been around birds fluttering free alas. Oh. And did I mention that he’s 9? And self-taught?
